Educational Development Centre

Throughout the Maldives Educational development centre is attributed as the professional hub of ministry of education. Then, educational project office (EPO) which was established in the Maldives on 6th October 1976 was renamed as educational development centre (EDC) on 1st January 1979 due to the growth and expansion of its services. Almost all the education related development progrmmes in the country were then conducted by EDC. As the programmes and activities expanded and diversified, new institutions were formed to accommodate this expansion, however, EDC continued to remain the main center and hub of these entities.
